  • Disk Space
When you sign up with a web hosting company, you are basically leasing hard disk space on their web server.  This disk space is used to store all your web site files.  Lets say you have a 50K web page consisting of text and graphics. A 10MB disk space can hold 200 pages of the same file size!

  • POP3 Email Addresses
A POP3 mail account is an account where your mail is temporarily stored on our sever and you retrieve them using any email software.  You can use mail programs such as Outlook, Outlook Express, or Eudora.

      |

  • Email Autoresponders
An Autoresponder is a specific email address that has two functions.  First, any user sending an email to that address will receive an automated response.  Second, the original incoming message is forwarded to another specified email address.

      |

  • Catch All Email
A catch all email is your email account will accept any mail that is being sent to ?????@yourdomain.com.  Instead of the sender receiving an undeliverable mail message, your mail account will accept the message.  This is good if your to receive an important email but the sender misspells your email address.  With catch all email you will never miss an important email again!

      |

  • Web Based Mail (PowerMail)
Web base mail is your ability to check your emails via any web browser.  This is good if your away from your PC where you can temporarily check your mail and later download them to your mail program.
    * Certain restrictions may apply.

      |

  • Email Aliases
For each email account you can have as many aliases you want.  For example, user Bob Mann can have bob@hisdomain.com, bobmann@hisdomain.com, theking@hisdomain.com and so forth all pointing to his mail box.

      |

  • Email Forwarding
This feature allows you to forward emails that are received into your account to one specific email box.  An example is that you want all of your emails (info@yourdomain, bob@yourdomain.com) received in your account to be sent to your ISP account like bob@aol.com, bob@mindspring.com or bob@bellsouth.net.  This way you can retrieve all of your email from one location.

  • Microsoft® FrontPage® Server Extensions?
FrontPage® 2000 server extensions are a set of server-side applications that:

    • Let multiple users simultaneously collaborate on the same Web site and Web Server (Multi-user Authoring).
    • Let users write directly to the Web server using a PC or laptop computer from anywhere in the world via the Internet (Remote Authoring).
    • Let users include forms on their Web site and specify how the results of those forms are handled.
    • Let users include discussion Webs on their Web site.
    • Provide full text search capability on a Web site.
    • Let users include hit counters on their Web site.

    fpbox.gif (4709 bytes) fp2kbox.gif (4452 bytes)

This "pre-packaged" functionality lets users incorporate these advanced features without having to write the complex server-side programs typically required. FrontPage is the only Web creation and management tool that offers all of these features.  FrontPage 2000 server extensions are backward compatible with FrontPage 98.

      |

  • ASP (Active Server Pages)
ASP technology allows HTML pages to contain complex scripts that are executed at the host, allowing for dynamic pages to be created from data retrieved from databases or any other resources available to the server.

      |

  • CGI-BIN Directory
This directory allows you to execute a CGI script written in Perl, or C. Perl programs are self-compiling and can be utilized immediately after transfer to this directory/folder. You have complete control of your CGI-BIN in order to execute programs. Please make sure that any script or program you are using is written to run on NT servers. Many Perl CGI scripts that are written to run on UNIX servers will not run on NT servers. The best way to verify the compatibility is to contact the author of the script and ask him/her if it has been known to work on NT servers.

  • Log Files
The log files store the information of all requests made to your website.  They are the files used to calculate the web site statistics.  Having access to the raw log files allows you to download them for archiving and allows you to run your own statistics software package on your own computer so that you can get more detailed information about your visitors.
    *  Log files take up a lot of disk space.  EverPlanet will only keep 30 days of log files.  See our policy on log files...

      |

  • 24/7 FTP Access
After creating your website, you can publish (transfer) your site to the server.  You can do this by using any File Transfer Protocol (FTP).  Update your website any day or time you want and from anywhere in the world: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

      |

  • Daily Tape Backups
We backup your website daily (off peak hours).  In an event you need a website restored, call and let us know.
There will be a $30 charge for restoration.

      |

  • Secure Server (SSL)
Virtual domain accounts support SSL (Secure socket layer) secure transactions. This method allows for secure, encrypted communication between the user's web browser and your web site. SSL requires that a secure host have a "certificate" signed by a certificate provider.  You can obtained SSL certificates from many of the SSL providers.  We recommend certificates GeoTrust and InstantSSL. We will help you obtain the certificate and configure your site.  You are welcome to use VeriSign or Thawte but we find GeoTrust and InstantSSL to be the better bargain.

GeoTrust Certificate are  $149 for your first year.
InstantSSL are $49 for your first year.

Websites that need to work with a database file, we can  provide database hosting solutions to Microsoft Access and FoxPro and provide you with a connection to your database source.

      |

  • Microsoft® SQL 7.0 or Microsoft® SQL 2000
For users requiring a more robust database management system, we can provide a connection to SQL 7.0 or SQL 2000.

      |

  • Secure Certificates
If you are building an online store or wanting to encrypt a single page, a digital certificate is required for our host to encrypt your domain.  The cost of a certificate from GeoTrust/EquifaxSecure is $119.  A $125 setup will be added.  Your certificate needs to be renewed with Geotrust every year.

If you require more information, please email us at sales@everplanet.

  • Domain Forwarding
Domain forwarding is having another domain pointing to a specific domain.  If you have domain-a.com but you also own the domain name domain-b.com and/or domain-c.net but you want all traffic from domain-b.com and domain-c.net to all go to the main domain-a.com, then you would have your domains forwarded.
